Oil Refineries in South America
Another continent in which environmental justice occurs on a large scale is South America. In Venezuela, one of the top oil producing nations in the world, several oil refineries are responsible for environmental justice on their surrounding communities. The refinery is operated by a state-run oil company and has been responsible for several deadly incidents.
