The structure and text of this section of the exhibit is adapted from McCarthyism at Queens College, 1947-1955, a display that was installed in the Rotunda of the Benjamin Rosenthal Library at Queens College from September 2 through October 18, 2003. The text was written by Dorothy Pita (Queens College alumnus) and Lawrence Kaplan (Queens College alumnus and Professor Emeritus of History at City College), with the assistance of designer Alice Sprintzen and Queens College Archivist Stephen Barto. Pita and Kaplan were students at Queens College during the period portrayed. The content, which includes scans of content from the original display, is presented chronologically in the five sections listed below.
