Campus Climate
12017-04-13T11:51:44-07:00Megan Reich9858d76d7e90b00d65492e3fcae9efc0de402706941714Landing Pageplain4297572017-04-26T12:18:16-07:00Ada Smithbebd0f4061179eaa2be3e94f1d52a6e5bcdf68efWe are studying the campus climate at the University of Puget Sound in the years 1968-1969 on attitudes regarding issues of race. How are students engaged in discourse and actions for or against racial discrimination, and how is this reflected in the extent of their involvement in the “Now, Mr. Lincoln?” project? We want to understand how students viewed their role in relation to the “Now, Mr. Lincoln?” project, show how campus climate has changed over time and how history is dynamic, and draw parallels between campus climate at the University of Puget Sound in 1968-70 and now (2017). We hope to help the visitor of this site understand how campus climate sets the stage for the onset of the “Now, Mr. Lincoln?” project, and the relevancy of the NML campaign to campus involvement in the community, and national/local news today.
