Hayes and I'm completing a dual Master’s degree in Library Science and Information Science at Indiana University, Bloomington (expected completion: May 2017). As a graduate student, I currently work as the Web Development Assistant at the Lilly Library, where I manage the Lilly Library's website, online exhibits, and digital collections. I am also currently the only Master’s Student research assistant for the IDEASc (Integrated Doctoral Education with Application to Scholarly Communication) Fellowship program coordinated by the IU Libraries and Dr. Cassidy Sugimoto. As part of the IDEASc Fellowship program, I collaborate with IDEASc doctoral fellows and conduct research on scholarly metrics. In addition, I work in the Scholarly Communication Department in the Indiana University Libraries, where I secure copyright permissions to deposit faculty and student publications into IU's open access institutional repository, IUScholarWorks.
Prior to studying librarianship and information science, I earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from California State University, Long Beach. My research interests include 19th century British Literature, contemporary poetry and poetics, scholarly communication, digital special collections, and digital humanities. I am passionate about teaching and utilizing digital tools to preserve scholarly research and cultural heritage materials. I have a special interest in geospatial humanities and I am actively engaged in the ways GIS technologies can be used to visualize and explore spaces in literary scholarship and history.
I'm excited to announce that effective July 3, 2017, I'll be joining the NCSU Libraries Fellowship Program. I'll be working on supporting digital scholarship services in the Copyright & Digital Scholarship Center.
