Cuatro Venezolano
El Cuatro de Venezuela llegó a la popularidad después de la liberación de Venezuela de España. Surgió con un aumento en la música nativa de Venezuela y desde entonces ha convertido en el instrumento nacional, reconocido fácilmente por su sonido único y se coloca en diversos tipos de música, incluyendo polca, calypso, y el bolero.
Aunque tiene raíces españolas que se remontan a mediados de los años 1500, el Cuatro venezolano ha desarrollado aún más en el que el español dejó. La Cuatro tiene una escala tonal único en el que las diversas cadenas no se elevan en el tono igualmente. También tiene menos trastes que una guitarra estándar. Debido a estas diferencias, es capaz de ser jugado de una manera única, y es el instrumento de elección para muchos músicos venezolanos.

The Cuatro of Venezuela came to popularity after the liberation of Venezuela from Spain. It arose with a rise in native Venezuelan music and has since become the national instrument, easily recognized for it’s unique sound and placed in various types of music, including polka, calypso, and bolero.Although it has Spanish roots dating back to the mid-1500s, the Venezuelan Cuatro has developed further where the Spanish left off. The Cuatro has a unique tonal scale in which the various strings do not rise in pitch equally. It also has less frets than a standard guitar. Because of these differences, it is able to be played in a unique way, and is the instrument of choice for many Venezuelan musicians.
