El cuerpo: Bajo la influencia de la medicina, la moda, y la religión
----
These two projects focus on investigating the influences of medicine, fashion, and religion on notions of the human body. Likewise, they examine how each of these areas shapes and redefines our understanding and perception of the body in different cultural and social contexts. With regard to medicine, research explores how medical theories and practices have influenced the conception of the body as a biological machine, and how these ideas have evolved over time. On the other hand, it analyzes how fashion not only reflects but also constructs aesthetic ideals and bodily norms, influencing how we see ourselves and others. Additionally, it considers the spiritual and symbolic dimensions of the body in the context of religion, investigating how religious beliefs dictate behaviors, rituals, and perceptions of the human body as a sacred vessel or a manifestation of the divine. These projects provide a more comprehensive understanding of how these cultural and institutional forces shape our conceptions and experiences of the body in contemporary society.
