Gender Equity in Early Childhood Education

Importance of ECCE Enrollment for Girls

For girls, enrollment and participation in ECCE programs is one of the strongest predictors for developing a positive gender identity and reaching equality outcomes. Early childhood programming can compensate for gender biases through nutrition, healthcare, stimulation, and opportunity, and evidence cites that disadvantaged female students make the most dramatic gains from ECCE programs. In order to improve global gender inequities in education, girls must have access to early education interventions that prove invaluable later in life.
