One easy way to get video footage from a phone or other device into scalar is to load it into google photo. (Your Hamline account should work with Google Photo.)
Sign in to YouTube and click Upload to go to the uploads page.
In the top right, click Import.
Pick one or more videos from your Google Photos account.
Click Select and the video(s) will upload to your YouTube channel.
Add the title and description and set the privacy settings -- MAKE SURE YOU GIVE GOOD INFORMATION HERE, including who took the images, who is in them, date, location, and what the permission to use these images is.
Click Publish (if you want to video to be public) or Done/Share (for private videos and unlisted videos).
Then back in Scalar, click the IMPORT icon (between the add a page icon -- the plus sign -- and the trash can: this is the inbox icon), go to other archives, and choose youtube. Search for the title and import!
