Cast Iron Skillet
Some simple steps on how to take the best care of your cast iron skillet:
- When you first recieve a skillet, no need to use soap just rinse and pat dry with a cloth or paper towel.
- Add a small amount of oil on the pan and use a cloth/paper towel to message the oil into the skillet to "season" the skillet.
- Try not to use super high heat, the pan will take a little while to get to temperature but will hold heat for quite a while.
- When you need to wash the skillet again, rinse and remove left over food, dry with cloth or paper towel (make sure the skillet is completely dry), apply oil as mentioned in step 2 (perferably while still warm), then hang or store in a dry place.
- Use again and again, the more you use the skillet the better the food will taste.
