In regards to the history of U.S. pop culture and Asian representation, the Asian American image has come a long way from the yellow peril stereotype it used to once harbor. It is pleasing to know that representation is no longer limited to senseless depictions of submissive dragon ladies or emasculated, yellow-skinned bogeys. Nowadays, decorated persons such as Jeremy Lin actually hold presence as a household name. This recent influx of representation is varied and holds beauty in the fact that we are stepping away from typecasts and perpetuated stereotype.
