I am originally from Seoul, South Korea but when I was 10 our family moved to Canada and I consider myself as Korean-Canadian. I was a professional ice hockey player until I was severely injured in 2007. After my hockey career, I moved to San Francisco where my parents moved from Canada. When I was a hockey player, I thought school wasn't for me but after taking an introduction of Asian American history class at City College of San Francisco, everything changed because I was truly inspired by a depth of an Asian American history and their everyday stories in America.
Here I am as a senior at UCLA major in Asian American Studies. Based on my major, I am trying to find a career in major sports/entertainment industry where many talented Asian Americans are often face marginalization. I want to be a representative and an agent to work with Asian American athletes and entertainers.
