Rogers was born in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, on 2 July 1856, the son of Lewis L. and Hannah (Graham) Rogers. He received a BA from Racine College in 1879 and MA from there in 1882. He married, first, Jennie Chamberlain on 2 July 1879 in Fenton, Michigan. He was ordained a deacon in 1880 and a priest in 1881. He began his career in Cheboygan, Michigan, serving a mission from 1880 to 1882. He moved from there to Cross and Crown Church in Erie, Pennsylvania, in 1882, and served a year. He moved again to Georgetown, Colorado, Cleburne, Texas, and Menominee, Michigan, serving each of them only briefly. He became rector of the Church of the Messiah in Detroit in 1889 and remained until 1893, when he moved to Grand Haven, Michigan, serving until 1897. He moved to Grace Church in Sterling, Illinois, then went to Chicagto, where he was enumerated in 1900. After his first wife's death, he married second in Chicago on 15 September 1903, Marie Elizabeth Frick. He came to Northern Indiana as rector of St. Paul's Church in Mishawaka, where he spent the remainder of his career. He held many offices, including president of the Standing Committee, Examining Chaplain, and member of the Bishop and Council. He retired from Mishawaka in 1933 and died there on 17 July 1936 after a long illness. He was buried in Mishawaka City Cemetery.
