Rev. William Paul Barnds

The Rev. William Paul Barnds was born on 5 August 1904 in Sweet Springs, Missouri, the son of William Tyson Barnds and Virginia Florida (Larsen). He received a Master's degree from the University of Missouri and graduated from Seabury Western Theological Seminary. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska. He married Ida Lou Sterrett. He served as rector of St. James Church in South Bend from 1953 to 1956. Previously he served churches in Fort Worth, Texas, Montgomery County, Kansas, and Lincoln, Nebraska. He was elected Suffragan Bishop of Dallas in 1966 and served until his death on 23 January 1973 of a heart attack. He was buried in Slater City Cemetery, Slater, Missouri.
