Rev. William Francis Dickinson

The Rev. William F. Dickinson was born in Southold, New York, on 16 February 1843. He married first Amanda Smith, who predeceased him. He was a medical doctor in addition to being an ordained priest, and did his theological training at Nashotah House. Early in his career he taught at the English and Classical Institute on Long Island. He was living in Warsaw, Indiana, in 1877, when he had charge of St. Andrew's Church. He later moved to New York State to be rector of Grace Church in Whitestone, Queens, serving there from 1878 to 1882. He then moved to Newberry, South Carolina, for several years. From 1887 to 1895 he was rector of St. John's Church in Monticello, New York, during which time he built a rectory. He may have been in Millville, New Jersey, in 1900, but his age does not fit his known age. He later moved to Denton, Maryland, and on 3 January 1925, he married his second wife Caro Saulsbury. He died in Queen Anne, Prince George's County, Maryland on 21 April 1942, aged 99.
