Rev. Robert Carpenter Ten Broeck

The Rev. Robert C. Ten Broeck was born in Indianapolis on 21 April 1881, the son of the Rev. William Pray and Mary Elizabeth (Yundt) Ten Broeck. He moved with his parents to Lacrosse, Wisconsin, at the age of four months, and then to Faribault, Minnesota, in 1893. He grew up there, attending Carlton College, Minnesota State University, and Seabury Divinity School, graduating in 1906. He began his career that year at St. John's Church in Worthington, Minnesota. In 1910 he came to Indiana as vicar of St. Andrew's Church in Valparaiso. He stayed only a year. He was later in Red Lodge, Montana, and Hazleton, Michigan. In 1940 he was an inmate in the Manteno State Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. His date of death has not been found. He married Sadie (__) and they had an adopted son.
