Nodder was born in 1861 in Sheffield, England, the son of Alexander and Lucy Nodder. Little is known about his background, though he was in Indianapolis in the 1890s and came to Indiana Harbor, Lake County, in 1903, serving briefly at St. Alban's Mission. He later returned to England died in Beverly, Yorkshire, in January 1925.
