Rev. Jesse Ketchum Brennan

The Rev. Jesse K. Brennan was born in Buffalo, New York, on 26 December 1865, the son of Barnabas Hazlitt and Emma (Rubeyall) Brennan. He attended the University of Virginia and seminary in Cambridge, Massachusetts, being ordained tot he priesthood in 1893 by Bishop Tuttle. He went to Missouri, serving a mission church at Louisiana, Missouri, from 1891 to 1894 and assistant at the Church of the Holy Communion, St. Louis, from 1894 to 1895. That year he moved to Memorial Church in St. Louis, and was later rector of St. Mark's Church there until 1907. He moved to Morgan Park, Chicago, to become rector of the Church of the Mediator, but by 1910 he had returned to Missouri to serve a church in Hannibal. He continued to serve churches in the state through 1920. In 1922, he came to Michigan City, Indiana, to become rector of Trinity, serving from 1922 to 1927. He then moved to California and died in Beverly Hills on 17 March 1936. His body was returned to Missouri, and he was buried in St. Hohn's Episcopal Cemetery in Eolia.
