Rev. Elias Boudinot Stockton

The Rev. Elias B. Stockton was born in Camden County, South Carolina, on 4 February 1868, the son of Richard C. and Harriet Stockton. He was ordained a deacon in Indiana in 1897, and his first assignment was to St. Mary's Episcopal Mission at New Carlisle, Indiana, serving a few months in 1897. In 1898, he went to Goshen to become rector of St. James, where he remained until 1899. That same year he married Caroline Abbott on 26 June 1899. By 1900 he had moved to Colchester, Vermont, where he was enumerated on the census. In 1910 he lived in West Orange, New Jersey. He was a noted genealogist and did extensive research on the Stockton family including compiling a book. His genealogical notes are in the New Jersey Historical Society He died on Staten Island on 30 July 1918. He was buried in Green Mount Cemetery, Baltimore.
