Rev. David Lardner Trimble

The Rev. David L. Trimble was born on 9 October 1850 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the Rev. Robert W. and Almira (__) Trimble. He came with his father to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, in 1860, where his father built an Episcopal Church. He was educated at Shelby College in Shelbyville, Kentucky, and later at Nashotah House, from which he graduated in 1876. He lost an eye in an accident which had prevented him from joining the military. Upon graduation he went to Indiana and served as rector of Trinity Church, Peru, from 1877 to 1880. He was also briefly at St. Mary's Delphi from 1878 to 1879. While in Peru he married Maggie Dorris in 1879. He later returned to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where he had extensive land holdings. After his first wife died, he married (2) Ella Lee Withers on 2 June 1891. He died in Pine Bluff on 8 April 1917 and was buried in Bellwood Cemetery.
