The Sword Pommel of Pierre de Dreux was made in the year 1240 after an arduous and meticulous crafting procedure. During this time period King Louis IX reigned over France and helped to encourage Crusading expetitions. King Louis IX ascended to the thrown at just the age of 12 after his father sadly passed away after just three years on the thrown. He followed in the footsteps of his Grandfather, King Phillip II, Pierre de Dreux Husband, and embraced his familal ties with Pierre. Pierre of Dreux was able to easily maintain his holdings and postion and continued to enjoy one of the most prominent titles and lands in all of France.
