Chapter 3.3 Camp Kessum
Camp Kesem at CWRU which began in 2013, supports children in the Northeastern Ohio community by providing a week long summer camp experience and year long peer-support. Their mission is “To support children through and beyond their parent's cancer with innovative, fun-filled programs that foster a lasting community.” Camp Kessum supports over 5000 children nationwide a year, with CWRU supporting between 50 and 100. The biggest program offered is the week long summer camp, however Camp Kesem continues to provide support for these children throughout the entire year.
