Cleveland's Nonprofit All-Stars

Chapter 3.3 Camp Kesem

Camp Kesem was created at Stanford University in 2000 with the goal of helping children whose parents are battling cancer. The nonprofit has many chapters, including one in Cleveland. Camp Kesem's Cleveland chapter at Case Western Reserve University began in 2013 with the goal of supporting children in the Northeastern Ohio community by providing a week long summer camp experience and year long peer-support. Their mission is “To support children through and beyond their parent's cancer with innovative, fun-filled programs that foster a lasting community.” Camp Kesem supports over 5000 children nationwide a year, with the Case Western branch supporting between 50 and 100. The biggest program offered is the week long summer camp, however Camp Kesem continues to provide support for these children throughout the entire year.
