Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

This traversal of Justin Fettig took place on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the MOVE lab at Washington State University of Vancouver. It is divided into two videos.
By traversing through the Nintendo Dual Screen re-release, we capture the experience of Chrono Trigger as it was intended for a later generation of North American gaming audiences. We witness the partial retranslation of the original Chrono Trigger script, conducted by Tom Slattery — which attempted to minimize previous censorship and, in turn, make the North American re-release of Chrono Trigger more faithful to it's original Japanese construct. The preservation of previously added content in the form of animated cutscenes is seen as well. The experience of this version's significantly distinct dual screen and stylus controls are also captured.
