Capturing O'Neill: Dedication pages of books on Irish traditional music, signed by Capt. Francis O'Neill

Clergy

It is difficult to know whether O'Neill had a tendency to send signed copies of his publications to members of the clergy, or whether members of clergy had more of a proclivity to donate their libraries to institutions. We can see that some important copies of O'Neill's books were donated to monestery libraries, and ended up in universities in both Ireland and America. Most notably, members of clergy had the habit of saving accompanying letters from O'Neill - and we have a handful of these letters preserved in this collection.
