Elhanan Leib Levinsky

The Hebew writer and Zionist activist Elhanan Leib Levinsky (1857–1910) was born in Podberez’ye on the outskirts of Vilna. In 1896 he settled in Odessa. Although initially critical of Yiddish literature, he eventually contributed to Yiddish press alongside his many contributions of Hebrew literature.
