Letter from the Chair: Brent Zweifel

Dear C2C Members:
The word “honor” doesn’t fully describe the feelings I have on being the Chairperson for Colleague 2 Colleague (C2C), but it will do. From what I have been told, I am the first C2C Chairperson to be from Missouri, which was a shock to hear, but I guess somebody has to be first.

I would like to start off by saying thanks to our C2C Digital Magazine subcommittee. They have worked very hard in preparing this issue of the magazine for your enjoyment and potentially expanding your knowledge. My gratitude is also extended to the authors that gave of their time and knowledge in the respective subject areas to write the articles for this magazine.

It has being about four months since the 2015 SIDLIT (Summer Institute on Distance Learning and Instructional Technology) concluded, and a lot has been happening to get the 2016 SIDLIT ready. I am extremely happy with all of the members that have agreed to be a part of the 2015 - 2016 C2C Steering Committee, especially the new ones. Without their volunteerism, SIDLIT would not exist.

In the coming months, we will be releasing information about the 2016 SIDLIT such as Nominations for Awards and Call for Presenters for SIDLIT. If you are not connected with C2C on social media platforms, you can find us on Facebook and Twitter

Throughout this letter, I have mentioned about people “volunteering,” and I understand everyone is busy with their jobs, families, and other commitments where they may not be able to volunteer to write an article or join a committee, but I ask you to volunteer for C2C. The simplest form of volunteering is “spreading the word”. Tell your friends, family, and/or co-workers about C2C, SIDLIT, the digital publications, and what they may potentially learn from us.

Have a great rest of the year! Enjoy this issue!

Brent Zweifel
C2C Chairperson
