Rebecca Kennedy is Associate Professor of Classical Studies and Director of the Denison Museum at Denison University. Her research has three primary focuses—the tragedies of Aeschylus in their historical and cultural context, the intersection between gender and ethnicity in fifth-century Athenian law and society, and identity formation processes in antiquity. She is the author and editor of several books and articles, including Immigrant Women in Athens (2014) and The Routledge Handbook to Identity and the Environment (co-editor 2016). She is also co-editor and translator of Race and Ethnicity in the Classical World: An Anthology of Sources (2014). She regularly teaches courses in Greek and Roman history, race and ethnicity in antiquity, and women, gender, and sexuality in antiquity.
