Let’s jump right into it and look at a video in iMovie to get a sense of basic concepts and techniques. To begin, watch the following video. It was initially created for Boston College’s new faculty orientation and needed to be dynamic, engaging, and informative and will be used here as a point of discussion.

Now let's look at the video as it appears in iMovie and some and consider some of the thinking behind its design:

Key Concept Takeways:

Style - The overall way the video is executed (e.g., the visual aesthetics, the music, the pace and rhythm).
Tone - The attitude, mood, or feel the video evokes.
Pace - The speed with which the video moves.
Rhythm - The timing of the cuts.
