Arkansas State University Licenses Teaching Experience Academic Honors and ScholarshipsLeadership and Community Involvement Morgan Garland is a student at Arkansas State University, where she is working on her Master of Science in Education degree, with emphases on social science. Garland received her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Social Studies Education in December, 2015. After receiving her degree in education, she went on to receive her social studies education teaching license from the Arkansas State Department of Education. Upon receiving her license, Garland accepted a teaching position at Harrisburg High School, located in Harrisburg, Arkansas. With her job came a list of responsibilities and obligations to fulfill. While teaching, Garland had the responsibility to teach her students by following the correct curriculum frameworks and NCSS standards that applied to her specific courses. Garland had the responsibility to meet the educational and physical needs of her students, as well as had the responsibility to teach and guide them to becoming good and productive citizens. It was Garland’s job to give her students the skills and tools necessary to prepare them for college, career, and civic life. After teaching for a year and a half, Garland made the decision to go back to school to work towards her master’s degree in education at Arkansas State University where she is now.
