I sit alone in a library nook
Thinking of all the things I don’t want to think of
Noisy ticks and licks of pain
Spurt and resemble actual thought
Distracted
Of men and tales and civility
To know knowledge as it spurs its feet
Kicking me winded backs abridged
How human we are
To live in such periods
And experience all the things they ever did.
