Pictured above is Juan Federico Miguel Arguello Trujillo or as he is better known Freddie Freak. Juan Trujillo was born in 1938 in the town of Trinidad in southern Colorado. He is the son of Juan Federico Trujillo, who was a coal miner and died three months before Freak was born. Trujillo's mother was Clorinda Arguello who and the rest of her family moved to Colorado from northern New Mexico, from the settlement of Santuario de Chimayó. His mother lost her hearing at a young age due to a botched medical procedure. Living with his mother's disability and the death of his father instilled in him a strong independent spirit.
