Transformational Resistance and Developing a Critical Consiousness for Students in Their Early Stages of Schooling and Beyond

The Major Keys of Transformational Resistance

Daniel G. Solórzano and Dolores Delgado Bernal, two LatCrit (Latino Crtitcal Race Theory) intellectuals came up with this idea for what are the main components of transformational resistance and below here they are.
1. "The Centrality of Race and racism and Intersectionality With Other forms of subordination"- analyzing experiences through thinking about how race in relationship to other intersectional identities like gender, sexuality, ability (mental and physical) , class, etc. may have impacted this experience

2. "The Challenge to Dominant Ideology"- question how the school system structured, the responsibilities of the administration and faculty, read essays that are nuanced (they found something new or different about that subject)  narratives of people who are things that oppose or are different from what you would consider

3. "The Commitment to Social Justice"- stay focused on making sure that you and other marginalized groups fight for the education, and treatment you deserve. The actions you take should be to help tear down systems of oppression(i.e. racism, sexism, ableism, classism), not build them up.

4. "The Centrality of Experiential Knowledge"- center you analysis or ideology on listening to the voices of minority groups. Their experiences are valid, "appropriate" and deserve to be heard

5. "The Interdisciplinary Perspective"-comparing the experiences or circumstances of black students in integrated schools today and black students in the first years of integration.
