Coleman Hawkins, Cattin'

Coleman Hawkins, Cattin!, Fontana (UK), Label #FJL 131, 12” LP, 1966.

The Fontana Popular Jazz Series, hailing from Britain in the early 1960s, consists of mostly compilations of songs recorded a few years earlier. The records were marketed towards young people with their one-word titles and featured women in various poses and outfits. This was likely an attempt to make jazz appear “cool” to young consumers.
