Mom's Apple Crisp

Apple crisp is, without a doubt, my all time favorite food. I remember making this with my mom as a child after picking apples.

Any apple can be used for this recipe, but McIntosh, Gala, and Braeburn work best.
  1. Peel and slice enough apples to above the baking dish (usually 8-10 large apples). The apples will shrink 1-2 inches while baking.
  2. Pour a mixture of 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 cup water over the top.
  3. In a separate bowl mix 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 3/4 cup flour. Evenly distribute over the apples.
  4. Equally disperse 6 TBSP of butter over the top.
Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes or until crispy.
