"At a very young age, it was thirteen of us, twelve of us, so I use to watch my mother cook. I use to sit on the stool in the kitchen and watch her cook. And that's how she prepared her greens, from the garden and I just watched her. (?) I continued to do the same thing. I maybe I added a little bit more seasoning from her original recipe. She used to pour fried bacon grease over her greens. I don't do that because you have to watch your health too. So I try to cook, you know cook a little healthier so they'll taste good."
