Project Planning - Before You Get Started
Things to consider:
Before you get started creating content, you need to set up a clear plan for your project. Here are number of questions to help get you started. What is your time frame and how much can you accomplish in that amount of time? A project that can span one year can be larger than something that needs to be finished in three months. Scope is important.What resources do you have to complete your project? Are you already familiar with the tools that you want to use or do you need help to identify what you should use? Do you have any funding for your project? Will you be including student workers in your research?
Is your project part of a larger plan or vision? Are you planning on expanding your project in the future? Will your project need to scale up in the future?
Where can you go for help? What departments on campus can help you if you run into problems? Are other researchers in your area doing similar work and might be willing to talk to you?
