Spectacles of Agency and Desire: Dance Histories and the Burlesque Stage

Rachel Sigrid Freeburg

Rachel Sigrid Freeburg is a dance artist and educator currently pursuing her MFA in dance at The Ohio State University.  Previously, she danced professionally with Johan Amselem’s Compagnie de danse La Halte-Garderie  and Mathew Jancewski’s company, Arena Dances in addition to works by Angharad Davies, Tania Isaac and Kaleena Miller. Her own work has been shown as a part of the 9x22 series at The Bryant Lake Bowl and as a guest choreographer for the Zenon Dance Dance Zone scholarship program. She holds a BFA in dance and minor in art history from the University of Minnesota, and is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy.
