Introduction


Athletes and strong men ever since ancient Greece have been looking for a competitive edge. Whether that has been in the form of anabolic steroids, a type of pre-game drink or even praying to the gods. Since the beginning of competition, humans have been looking for something to gain an advantage in order to take their abilities to the next level. In the art of Body Building and Sculpting, athletes are fortunate enough to reap the benefits from the study of the human body and how it interacts with the food we eat. In the 1950's guru's in the bodybuilding world introduced and marketed new Nutritional supplement products to the public. Products that would change the way we fuel our athletes, and ideally everyday Americans. The implementation of Protein Powder changed the way athletes diet, and opened new doors in marketing Fitness, and Nutrition. Protein powder has impacted the Fitness industry in the  rethinking and reshaping how the average person should diet. Although not traditionally defined as a food, modern day protein powder has a variety of uses in combination with or as a substitute for other foods. This versatile substance has evolved now to be used to fuel people within the fitness industry and out of it to a healthier life. By studying the human body and how to optimally fuel and sculpt anatomy one athlete in particular is pushing the boundaries of genetic gender limitations and expectations. While she embarked on this journey she has incorporated a protein based product. originally created and marketed by a small group of bodybuilders in the 1950s their invention has become a staple product in the diets of athletes and everyday Americans.
