translation of Acts 2:25-35

25 For David spoke
concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right
hand, that I should not be moved:

26 Therefore ___
my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;
moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

27 Because thou will
not leave my soul in hell, neither will thou
suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of
life; you will make me full of joy with your  countenance.

29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak
unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us unto this day.

30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing
that God had sworn ___ an oath to him, that of
the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit
on his throne;

31 He seeing this before spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was
not left in hell, ____ ____ ____ ____  ____ _____.

32 This Jesus hath God rose up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God
exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he
hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

34 For David is not ascended into the
heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right
hand,

35 Until I make your
foes your footstool.

Rational

            For this translation I
used the King James version as the starting point, and went through and deleted
any phrases that were repetitive, rephrased parts that by todays standards were
grammatically incorrect, and changed some of the old English words such as
“thy” to its modern day equivalent.  Making
sure that none of the original meaning could possibly be misconstrued.

            I realize that this
translation does not have as many changes as you might like, but I find it very
important not to vary any part of the Bible.
In Revelation 22:19 God puts forth a very clear warning not to add or
take away from the Word. Because of this, if I wasn’t 100 percent sure the
change I made was in no way misconstruing the Word I didn’t make it.

As for the reason I used
the King James Version.  This is the
translation that I grew up with, it is the translation that I understand the
best, and it is the translation that I feel is the most accurate to what was
originally written back in the time of Jesus.
