Feminist Podcasting

Welcome to Feminist Podcasting

This is a multimodal research essay on how the feminist movement has embraced podcasting as a medium by which to express the insights and opinions of the often marginalized female voice.

This presentation provides an analysis of the historical aspect of feminist podcasting.

This presentation, if followed in order, begins with an explanation of what feminism is, followed by a brief history of feminism. This is then followed by an explanation of how feminism has developed alongside, and been integrated into, popular culture. This is elaborated upon in the following page, which discusses the history of women in broadcasting (let us think of podcasting as the "radio" of the internet). After this, the podcast medium is presented, followed by a look at the feminist podcast genre. Following this, there is an example of a feminist podcast channel, 'The Guilty Feminist'. The final page (before the bibliography) is a closer look at one episode from this feminist podcast, 'Male Privilege'
I suggest following the pages in order as they have been organized as to provide context for each subsequent page. However, the information provided on each respective page can be understood, and enjoyed, individually.
