Artist Statement “Writers are often advised to ‘write what you know,’ so as a painter, I decided to ‘paint what I know.’ And what I know is people looking at—contemplating, inspecting— artwork. These two pieces, scenes from the Women's Art Institute Summer Studio Intensive, seemed especially appropriate for this part of the [Roots and Fruits] exhibition.”
