Social Media, Self and Power

What was once considered a shallow form of entertainment, social media has evolved into a popular content platform, becoming meaningful through peer information sharing and social connections. Through our interactions with immaterial worlds, we are producing a sense of ourselves by investing on an emotional level. Our beliefs about media shape the ways we interpret and perceive society, culture, the internet, and of course, ourselves. Social media has significant potential in affecting the development of the self and influencing personal ideologies towards political power in society.
