Rhizome Experiment, Fall 2015

Form and Content in motion

A class of seventeen first-year students at Duke University has collectively generated this project. Together, we’ve been studying the history of media, the role of technology in society and its mutable cultural meanings. We have also been exploring theories of media in order to provide us with the connective and analytic textures necessary to make sense of the wide scope of our readings. Using Marx, Guattari, Baym, Nichols, and Williams, among others, we’ve attempted to understand the way the meanings and modes of media have affected social life and identity across different times and spaces.
