Southern Colorado State College Sports
With the change from Pueblo Junior College to Southern Colorado State College, also came a change from a 2 year college to a 4 year college.
In their first year competing at the 4 year college level the Football squad for SCSC saw a 3 win and 5 loss year, playing at Dutch Clark Stadium in Pueblo. The next season however, the team came out big finishing with 8 wins 1 loss and 1 tie, breaking 9 school records, and finishing ranked among the top small college elevens in the country.
Baseball also continued onto the 4 year college level, and started competing with other four year colleges, and even travelling abroad to play some games in Mexico. The baseball team at SCSC started playing there home games at Runyon Field in Pueblo.
Although the competition was tougher at the 4 year college level, the basketball team didn't care, winning their first 43 home games at the new level, and becoming a powerhouse for years to come. Unfortunately after years of greatness the basketball team lost their momentum.

The first year of track, 1964, saw an RMAC championship. The following year, 1965, the track team took off, setting 13 national indoor records in one year. In 1966 the team took 5th place in the NAIA national tournament, competing with other four year colleges.

The golf team started at SCSC in 1966, and starting with it a new home facility. The golf team began using Pueblo Golf and Country Club, which saw the team practicing their, as well as hosted many home tournaments for the golf team at SCSC.
