Posthumanism is a theory with which to understand the advancing development of technology and its impact on the way that humans think of themselves. With posthumanism, scholars can ask questions about what it means to be human in an age where technology becomes more embodied.
When the category of "the human" is constructed to mean "as you were created to be", the existence of artificial limbs, heart pacers, contacts, hair extensions, smart watches, and phones that track your bio-metrics further confuse this construction.
