I joined Umeå School of Architecture first course as guest tutor during the 2017. Spring Term UMA 1 was coordinated by Amalia Katopidis together with Sara Thor and Toms Kokins (header photo). The course content was already set up, consisting on a project around Umeå Train Station. My contribution included a lecture on radical cartography at the beginning of the term. I tutored a group of 20 students from all parts across Sweden (between a group of almost 80 students).
The results of the tutoring were very satisfactory. I had the chance to engage in an exciting academic environment and to meet an excellent crew of Swedish and international teachers, and be an active part of an exciting pedagogical project and fine-tuned learning environment, as defined in the article “A day at the School of Architecture” in the June issue of Umeå University magazine AKTUM.
