Opening Up Space: A Lovely Technofeminist Opportunity

Damaging Rhetoric

Here marks the start of a series of belittling descriptions of the appearance and culture of Bradley's captors. A transparent bias of the author manifests when considering the likeliness of the author's inauthentic identity. Entertaining the notion that this is truly an authentic account of her experiences, however, the reader still must grapple with the contention between her revered Puritan values and Bradley's explicit othering of a culture she knows little about. However fabricated the account may be, the work still gained traction in popular press, posing the very real threat of being recognized as illustrative proof of the supremacy of Western culture.
