Journey to Bethlehem
29
Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem of Judea for a census ordered by the Roman emperor. Traditional and modern portrayals of the Holy Family on this arduous journey convey uncertainty, rejection and spartan accommodations.

Epiphany
7
In Christianity, the word “epiphany” refers to the recognition or manifestation of Christ as divine. The first of these epiphanies described in the Gospels — the arrival of the Magi with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh — appears in many Nativities. Their feast is commemorated every Jan. 6 — The Feast of the Epiphany.
