CWRU determines the price of each meal plan based on a variety of factors and statistics. Each plan would have to be lowered a certain amount based on the previous price and this would make it difficult to do. This approach also provides a large decrease in profit from the previous plan as it removes a chunk of profit provided by each student. Decreasing the price of the plans by 10% would leave the student still paying a large amount per meal relative to the price of meals at normal restaurants. The student may save a couple hundred dollars and the university would loose thousands and thousands. One other version of this solution would be to avoid increasing the prices each year, and potentially decreasing the price slowly. This solution required many inefficient tasks and would be complex to preform. Next solution.
