Michael Primiani
Michael Primiani is a fourth year history student at York University. This research project was done in conjunction with the course AP/HIST4840 . He is passionate about Canadian and American history, writing, research and comedy. He has always been interested in the history of rock music which has led him to write and act in satirical YouTube videos about metal music and being commissioned to write a script by the Grammy award winning band Ghost. He has previously written for the website BlogTO on several occasions. He hopes that his love for writing and research will lead him to a career in Law following obtaining his undergraduate degree in History. He would like to thank Professor Jennifer Bonnell for introducing him to this project, Stacy Allison-Cassin for developing it with him and the staff of the Clara Thomas Archives and Special Collections for their assistance.
Brian McLaughlin
Brian McLaughlin is a fourth year history student at York University. Continuing this research project was done in conjunction with the course AP/HIST4840. Brian at first was new to Canadian music history but with dedication and time he was able to learn about the scene and came to really enjoy the content. Brian's passions lay in video games and sports with his favourite team being the Toronto Maple Leafs and his favourite game World of Warcraft. In terms of music Brian has always been a fan of movie scores and orchestra but also rock and metal. Brian specializes in ancient history with an interest in Greek and Roman studies. Brian hopes his degree will help him on his future academic journeys and find a career field he will truly enjoy.
